Cipinang Lontar Railway Crossing Closed Down

This is because the flyover has been operated thus we had to close down it. Talk about traffic engineering, we’ll hand over it to East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept.

The Cipinang Lontar Railway Crossing, Jatinegara, East Jakarta is closed down today, Monday (3/5). It is conducted after a trial of Cipinang Lontar Flyover in the field.

Prawoto, Sub-Directorate Head of Prevention and Safety Law Enforcement said it is aimed to create safety and comfort of the rider. It is because the intensity of trains passing on this track is quite high.

Railway Crossings Closure Trial Continuous to Be Finalized

"This is because the flyover has been operated thus we had to close down it. Talk about traffic engineering, we’ll hand over it to East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept.," he stated, Monday (35).

Based on the monitoring in the field, a number of personnel are seen closing down the crossing permanently by installing a guardrail and a movable concrete barrier (MCB) from Jalan Bekasi Timur and Jalan Raya Bekasi to deter passing vehicles.

Andreas Eman, Section Head of Traffic for East Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. stated, before it is done, socialization about closure planning has been announced via mass media and banner. 

"Vehicles coming from Jalan Bekasi Timur and Jalan Raya Bekasi can't pass here anymore. But they must use the existing flyover," he told.
